3 Days Amboseli Safari

Amboseli National Park is a renowned wildlife sanctuary located in southern Kenya, near the Tanzanian border. Covering an area of approximately 392 square kilometers (151 square miles), this park is celebrated for its breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife. The most iconic feature of Amboseli is the majestic backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak, which adds a stunning visual element to the park's scenery.

Amboseli is renowned for its diverse wildlife population, particularly its large herds of African elephants. Visitors can witness these gentle giants against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro, creating captivating photographic opportunities. The park also hosts numerous other species, including lions, cheetahs, zebras, giraffes, and a variety of bird species.

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli

Pick up by our driver from your hotel or at the airport in the morning and drive towards Amboseli. Amboseli is located approximately 240 kilometers (150 miles) to the southeast of Nairobi, and the journey typically takes around 4 to 5 hours by road, depending on road conditions and stops along the way. The drive from Nairobi to Amboseli takes you through a diverse landscape, including savannah plains, farmlands, and acacia woodlands.

You'll also pass through several small towns and villages along the way arriving in time for some hot lunch at your booked camp/ lodge. After lunch, head over to your first game drive inside the park. Amboseli is famous for offering some of the best views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest peak. The park's flat, open plains provide an unobstructed view of the mountain, making it a picturesque backdrop for wildlife photography. The sight of elephants, giraffes, and other animals against the backdrop of Kilimanjaro is a photographer's dream. Amboseli is also known as the home to a large population of African elephants, and it's one of the best places in Africa to observe these magnificent creatures up close. Visitors often have the opportunity to see massive elephant herds, with some individuals sporting impressively large tusks.

Day 2: Full day Amboseli

Have early breakfast and thereafter proceeded to the park for another game drive. Large concentrations of wildlife occur here in the dry season, making Amboseli a popular tourist destination. It is surrounded by six communally owned group ranches, The National Park embodies five main wildlife habitats (open plains, acacia woodland, rocky thorn bush country, swamps, and marshland) and covers part of a Pleistocene lake basin, now dry.
Amboseli is famous for its big game and its great scenic beauty – and the landscape is dominated by the towering Mount Kilimanjaro. The plains offer numerous jackals, spotted hyenas, olive baboons, vervet monkeys, antelopes, and the chance of spotting leopard or cheetah. Observation hill, a conical peak that is easy to climb offers great views of Mount Kilimanjaro. After lunch, you can take another game drive or a guided nature walk. You may also have an optional visit to an authentic Maasai village. Dinner and rest at Lodge/ Camp.

Day 3: Amboseli to Nairobi

Have an early breakfast and head for the last game drive en-route to Nairobi with lunch en-route arriving Nairobi and getting dropped at your hotel/airport. You will arrive in Nairobi in the afternoon marking the end of your adventurous safari. Depending on your plans, you may be dropped off at your hotel, the airport, or another specified location in the city.
